About Christen D. Butler

Christen, a Birmingham native, is a 2014 Graduate of Cumberland School of Law and a 2010 Graduate of Mississippi State University. While attending Mississippi State University, she was a Presidential Scholarship recipient and a member of the Alpha Beta Chi Honor Society.

At Cumberland School of Law, Christen was a Dean’s Scholarship Recipient. She was also an Associate Editor of the 2012-2013 publications of the American Journal of Trial Advocacy and went on to serve as Senior Associate Editor of the 2013-2014 publications. She was a seven time Dean’s List recipient and the 2012-2013 Balch & Bingham/Harold A. Bowron, Jr. Labor and Employment Law Award recipient. Christen was honored as a Scholar of Merit in Contracts II, Labor Law, Employment Law, Federal Income Tax I, and Wills, Trust, and Estates.

Furthermore, Christen was a member of the 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 Cumberland School of Law National Negotiation Team. She served as an at-large member of the 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 Black Law Student Association and went on to serve as the 2013-2014 Community Service Chair. Christen was also honored to be a semi-finalist in the 2012 Donworth Moot Court Competition.

Christen co-authored an article for the 2013 Winter Issue of the Birmingham Bar Bulletin entitled “Is Alabama Ready to Recognize Tortious Interference with an Inheritance?” Christen is a member of the Alabama and Birmingham Bar Associations. She is also an active member of the Childcare Resources Jr. Board.
