
Daniel is a Shareholder with the firm, where he serves as Chair of the firm’s Trusts & Estates Practice Group, as well as serving on the firm’s Board of Directors.
With a strong technical foundation in both estate and corporate law, as well as financial analytics and tax, Daniel works regularly with high-net worth individuals and owners of closely-held family businesses on a broad range of estate & trust planning, business law, and tax matters. Most commonly all of the above, as these areas so frequently overlap that being knowledgeable in each is key to adequate representation and strategic planning.

Daniel also has extensive experience advising his clients on business formation and choice of entity, as well as leading multi-million dollar transactions, mergers, and acquisitions on behalf of both buyers and sellers.
Daniel grew up in Pell City, Alabama and attended the University of Alabama as a Coca-Cola First Generation Scholar and Presidential Scholar. He majored in Finance, with concentrations in Investment Management, Economics and Statistics, before attending the University of Alabama School of Law. After law school, Daniel clerked for the Hon. Michael G. Graffeo in the 10th Judicial Circuit of Alabama, as well as the Hon. Philip K. Seay and Hon. Billy R. Weathington in the 30th Judicial Circuit of Alabama, before returning to earn his LL.M. in Taxation and joining the firm in August of 2016.
Outside the firm, Daniel resides in the Hoover/Vestavia area with his wife, Katie, and three children – Dexter, Leela, and Stella Kate. He loves playing good golf, enjoys playing decent golf, and tolerates playing bad golf. He also is a proud supporter of Crimson Tide athletics and U.S. Soccer.
