Richard is a native of Akron, Ohio. He practices in the firm’s Real Estate Group, concentrating on business law and real property. He graduated with honors from Johns Hopkins University and received his law degree from New York University School of Law. He was a professor at the University of Baltimore School of Law and is currently a professor in Property Law and Advanced Property Law at Birmingham School of Law, where he has been selected as Professor of the Year for thirty consecutive years.
Richard was Commissioner of the Southside/Avondale softball league and has been the head softball coach at Indian Springs School for the past twenty seasons. He and his wife, Anne who is a professor at University of Alabama – Birmingham, have three children, Leslie, Jillian, and Elizabeth. Anne is also a co-author of “Essentials of Modern Neuroscience”.
